Say hello to John “Aron” Hinson, our Risk Management Framework (RMF) Analyst here at S2i2. Aron plays a key role on our cybersecurity team, supporting clients as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
Aron’s journey began in the Air Force Reserves, where he served as a medical logistics Senior Airman from 2002 to 2008. During this time, he managed equipment supply and quality control through IT database systems, developing valuable experience in military operations and IT system support.
From 2005 to 2010, Aron worked at QuadraMed Corporation as a Technical Writer Team Lead. He managed regulatory documentation for software products and led the transition of documentation projects to a new department in India, creating training materials and workflows for multiple health information systems.
Aron then joined General Dynamics Information Technology, where he worked in several progressive roles. From 2012 to 2016, he served as Senior Technical Editor and later Senior Technical Writer Team Lead, supporting the US Marine Corps and then the US Army’s Civilian Human Resources Agency. He collaborated with subject matter experts to develop technical documentation for numerous information systems.
From 2016 to 2021, Aron advanced to Certification & Accreditation Analyst for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. In this role, he monitored system vulnerabilities and supported security documentation for Pentagon information systems to obtain proper authorizations. He later moved to supporting the Joint Service Provider, ensuring workforce compliance requirements across hundreds of employees.
In 2021, Aron joined S2i2, Inc., first as an Information Assurance/RMF Analyst supporting numerous systems for Authorization to Operate renewal. Today, he brings his expertise to the Joint Service Provider (JSP) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), helping information systems and applications successfully receive authorization and accreditation as they transition from Virtual Machine (VM) environments to Cloud Service Provider environments.
But Aron’s commitment to service extends well beyond the office. He actively volunteers throughout Northern Virginia with the Lions Club International (LCI) local club of Baileys Crossroads and surrounding communities. You’ll find him wherever community needs are identified—cleaning up parks, distributing food from the Capital Area Food Bank, and processing eyeglass donations in preparation for promoting eye care missions throughout the world.
When he’s not safeguarding systems or serving his community, Aron enjoys exploring National and State parks in his travels. He’s also passionate about rock climbing—organizing trips to outdoor locations and coordinating weekly indoor meetups for fellow climbing enthusiasts in the region.
With over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity and a dedication to both professional excellence and community service, Aron exemplifies the well-rounded expertise and values we pride ourselves on at S2i2. Learn more about Aron’s expertise and experiences!
